「臺灣金壺獎」秉持：「陶冶生活涵養，提昇生活品質」之精神，
以茶壺設計為競賽主題，為結合國際茶文化的蓬勃發展，及鼓勵國際陶藝創作者及陶瓷產業界，致力於茶壺藝術之設計、創作、技術及生產上之開拓及發展；特徵選各種茶文化形式、主題之具風格性及實用性茶壺。希望藉由設計競賽展的舉辦，促進陶藝茶壺的製作日新月異、精益求精;並經由陶藝創作與茶藝文化的交流，豐富國際陶藝與茶藝的視野，以提昇國際陶藝茶壺之品質及創作水準，來達到相互刺激、成長的目標。
